Thinly sliced plantains and jackfruit coated in sugar and fried in egg roll wrappers, Turon is one of the many filipino desserts that highlights the island’s fruits.


Ingredients

2-3 Plantains

2 Cups of Jackfruit, Fresh or Canned

1 Package Egg Roll Wrappers

2 Cups Brown Sugar

Oil For Frying

Directions

Peel plantains and slice into thin strips. Slice jackfruit into thin strips as well. Place the sugar in a bowl or on a plate, and roll plantains in the sugar. Place the sugared plantains on the egg roll and add the sliced jackfruit alongside it. Roll and repeat. Fry in oil until golden brown. The sugar from the inside will seep out and create a delicious sugar glaze.
